J.A.K. was inspired by the challenges that families faced during the pandemic in accessing resources for their children's education. With over seven years of experience working with Pre-K and special needs students at Family Services of Westchester, Jakira created J.A.K. as a supportive system for her community. She believes that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and she is determined to use her knowledge and skills to help young people succeed.

If selected, she plans to guide students on a journey of self-exploration and creative expression through poetry. Jakira believes poetry is a powerful tool for self-discovery, and she is eager to share this with young people in her community.

Jakira's faith in God is central to her life, and she is committed to living her life following His will. She believes that her spoken word poetry is a gift from God and uses it to inspire and uplift those around her.

Jakira's ambitions extend beyond her spoken word poetry and education. She plans to establish her museum to showcase her journey in life and create an anthology that can be used as part of the curriculum for mental health in colleges and high schools. Her anthology will serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement for young people struggling with mental health issues. Jakira also wishes to create a coaching course under J.A.K. to support and empower parents as they guide their children through their academic journey. She believes parents play a crucial role in their children's education and wants to offer them the tools and resources they need to help their children succeed.
